About the work:

Golden Depths: Secrets of the Sea” is a light object from my “Burning Blacklight” series that combines the essence of nature, art, and technology. Engraving and targeted fire treatment bring out the grain of the spruce wood in an artistic way. The ash is removed and an intense blue pigment layer is burned in—a color reminiscent of the magic of the sea.

At the center of the work sits a synthetic resin crystal, refined with fluorescent elements and layers of color that create an opalescent effect inspired by the colors of Australian opals. The artwork is framed by a square light frame with a dimming function that allows the intensity of the light to be varied. This makes “Golden Depths” a living work of art that invites the viewer to rediscover the depth and magic of the sea again and again.
